Hello world. My name is Samantha Soper.
I’m a creative and interactive powerhouse with over 10 years of professional experience. Innovative, hardworking, and talented are just a few words my teammates use to describe me. UX design, UI development, art direction, and interactive marketing are my crafts, as much as thorough research and measurable results are my tools.
I’d like to start out with my experience. First of all, I’m mostly self-taught. I began learning graphic design and HTML development when I was 12. In late 2008, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Texas, with a focus on research and account planning. While I was in college, I juggled multiple internships and freelance opportunities.
Currently, I am a self-employed independent consultant working with companies like HostGator, Bluehost, and Nulo Pet Food, as well as various local small businesses, to service their UX, web, and creative needs. You can learn more about my freelance work by visiting my services page.
A bit of a serial entrepreneur, I also launched a solo illustration and graphic arts brand in 2018, through which I work local vendor events, take commissions, and create themed original series. Since 2014, my partner and I have been running an Etsy art print shop under the name BAMFaktory. Both of these endeavors keep my ideas fresh, as part of my creative ritual, and also serve as an outlet for my true passion.
My most recent corporate employment was managing Golfsmith International’s web presence in the US and Canada. Throughout my time with the company, they were awarded Digital Marketer of the Year by BounceX and the creative ads have been recognized by AdWeek. Several of my projects or enhancements directly increased revenue, traffic, and engagement, while improvements I made to the product page earned top scores with The e-Tailing Group.
My hobbies include photography, camping, hiking, and birdwatching. I love learning languages and have done work in French and Spanish.
